Services

TranSComm collaborates with a representative from your company to design the following programs as needed:

Public Transit Accessibility – with the proper representative from your company, advocacy with the MBTA and other transportation providers is easier. This advocacy allows your company to lobby for new and/or better services for your employees—all of which leads to a more pleasant, convenient, stress-free commute.

MBTA Pass Program– Public transportation is an accessible, dependable, clean, and relatively stress-free alternative to driving alone to work. Discounted and/or payroll-deducted passes are a helpful incentive in promoting public transportation, as well as making commuting to work more affordable. Please visit the MBTA for more information.

Carpooling and Vanpooling – carpooling saves you time and money and helps to relieve traffic congestion and improves air quality. Two or more persons traveling together can register for a carpool pass with preferential parking. Those commuters wishing to carpool but who need a partner can register for the computerized ride-matching service.

Emergency Ride Home (ERH) – Registered carpool and vanpool members who have signed up for the ERH program are entitled to a free ride home in case of an emergency. If any member has to leave work early because of a personal or family crisis or illness, the ERH program will get them home.

Bicycling – Bicycling is a safe, healthy, enjoyable, efficient, and environmentally-sound means of transportation. By promoting this mode of transportation, your company will establish an atmosphere that enhances those desirable qualities. Cyclists will be more inclined to bike to work if their interests are served and protected by their company. Programs in bicycle safety, maintenance and road rules are of great benefit to employees and the public as a whole.

Walking – Walking is a healthy and enjoyable form of transportation. As members of "Walk Boston," TranSComm encourages this form of transportation.

Personalized Commuter Assistance – Employees can explore a variety of commuting options. A trained transportation associate from your company will work with individual employees to find the quickest, most convenient, safest, and least expensive routes from home to work.

Employee Orientations – TranSComm will assist you in presenting transportation information at employee orientation and transportation awareness events. An Award winning transportation video has been created for these events. As part of your membership, you will receive your own copy of this seven-minute light hearted look at commuting.

Events

MBTA Informational Events – MBTA personnel and staff members join us to answer commuting questions.

Central Artery Information Sessions – Staff available to present Big Dig updates.

Transportation Awareness Events – Representatives from various city and state departments present their transportation programs.
